The association which began with a core group of interested and dedicated professionals in the field of Recreation and Leisure services in February 2010, has flourished and grown into a recognised global entity.
We are grateful for the tremendous support, financial assistance and trust placed in LARASA by the Premiers Office of KwaZulu-Natal, CATHSSETA, The Department of Economic Development and Tourism(KZN), the mayor’s office of Ethekwini Municipality and the KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau.
The signing of the international protocol agreements with the National Recreation and Parks Association and the World Leisure Organisation has placed us in a position of strength to boost our services to our members and to help us achieve our goals to promote healthy living for all citizens in South Africa and neighbouring SADC countries.
The first LARASA Congress will be held in Durban at the ICC from 12 – 14 March 2012. An impressive list of speakers from South Africa and thirteen international countries will be sharing best practice and the latest research trends in the sector of Recreation and Leisure.
